Hi Marc,

The overall trip was great. The Killeen House and Waterville House are wonderful places to stay. We enjoyed Waterville House a lot, since it was basically only us when we were there. They had two other guests on our first night, then it was just us. The Killeen House was very welcoming and their staff very nice, especially Deirdre.

The golf courses were enjoyable. I am glad that we played Waterville and Tralee twice, due to the heavy winds from Katia. Tralee was much more enjoyable in the normal wind conditions. Waterville is a fantastic course and being able to practice at the house was fun and very helpful for me. After that, I was able to swing my long irons well for the rest of the trip. Ballybunion Old Course was a good time. I had a caddy that day and thru the first five holes, I was one under with four one putts. He told me the line for the putts and I knocked them in. After the fifth hole, he asked jokingly if I really need him.

The last round of the trip at Lahinch was the most enjoyable. Having the early tee time was not bad. We were able to get the round in before the rain came. Our forecaddy's name was Hughie and he was a delight. He provided great guidance around the course, and he knew our ball flight after a couple of holes and was able to tell us our aiming line and what to swing. He was spot on all day. He told great stories, as well. I talked with him and he said has been caddying at Lahinch for 50 years.

I have great memories from the trip. Thanks for all of your suggestions and work on setting the trip up. I will let you know when my next trip will be and we might have some one drive us around on the next one.

Take care and Cheers!

Hi Marc,

I wanted to give you some feedback regarding our recent Scottish holiday. We had a wonderful time. I played golf twice and enjoyed the courses and I know the men enjoyed all the courses. They were quite pleased they were able to play St Andrews via the ballot system. The accommodations were quite nice and I especially liked the fact that all of us had views of the Old Course from our rooms in St Andrews. I think the only criticism was that at both the Culloden House and Rusacks, the 4 couples had a variety of rooms/suites. Since we all were paying the same amount it seemed odd that some had very small rooms while others had suites. I assume you have no control over this and those were the rooms available. It caused no problems but thought I would mention it.

Graeme was delightful. He went out of his way to get a birthday cake for Greg which was particularly thoughtful. He booked wonderful restaurants for us. It was quite helpful that Lindsay Clark had a car as it was at times difficult to schedule the ladies plans based on where the men played golf. Having been to Scotland before I thought it might be an issue as travel takes longer that we are used to in the States. The day the men played Royal Dornoch the women wanted to go to Loch Ness. It would not have been possible for Graeme to transport both groups. This was mainly a golf trip so the women had to search for things to do. Graeme was not familiar with the area near Cruden Bay so it was a struggle to find activities for the women while the men played golf that day. As it was a long travel day we knew we had to find something to do.

We did have a wonderful trip. The scenery was beautiful, the people wonderful and we had enjoyed being together. Thank you for your work in putting the trip together.

This was the best guys trip we have ever done. The weather was great! We got drizzled on for two holes in eight rounds and we only had wind two rounds. The accommodations were the best ever! This was the best group of guys I have ever taken by far. Only one night did we all not eat together and that was the second night when "only" 14 of us ate together. Having 20 guys eat together for 7 nights is unheard of with our groups. These guys all got along just fabulously!

Drew goes to the top of the list of drivers you have provided us. He gave us good input on eating places and went the extra mile to help those in need. I have gotten notes from every guy thanking me for a trip to remember for always and I have taken full credit for everything! Seriously, the guys have said and know you put together a great experience for them

Hey Marc,

Overall the trip was superb. The hotel accommodations in both St Andrews and Edinburgh were above expectations providing great rooms, comfortable lounge areas for larger groups like ours and excellent breakfasts. We also arrived everywhere we went in style and on time in our luxury coach!

When it comes down to it, the key elements to any successful trip are organization and execution. Marc, thanks for a seamless job of putting this all together and ensuring that everything went off without issue (including a last minute request for hotel pick up on the arrival on Sunday). We are all in agreement that the trip would not have been as enjoyable without Dunbar Tours as our guardian.

On the execution front Brian, our driver, was fantastic and a huge part of the success. He was reliable, flexible and a great fit with our group – providing beyond the call of duty day in day out. The golf courses all had their own flair and were each great in their own way. My personal favorites were North Berwick by far, followed by Kingsbarns, Crail and then Gullane. Carnoustie was surprisingly a bit of a disappointment.

All in all a fantastic adventure with great friends with a ton of laughs that will be remembered forever.

Cheers!

Howdi Marc,

Outstanding experience all-around. Thanks for all your efforts. Along with the whole gang I feel that our driver Brian went above and beyond the call of duty and helped to make the trip a huge success. My favourite courses were North Berwick, followed by Crail and Kingsbarns.

Kudos to yourself, Brian and of course Haydes and Mac for the hours of work, put into pulling this baby off.

Hello Marc,

Thanks again for organizing a great trip. As I look back on our two weeks there was not one thing that I would do differently. The golf was outstanding, the accomodations first class and Graeme couldn't have been a better guide and driver. I am already making notes about the next trip of a lifetime and look forward to having you help us with that as well.

Continued Success,

As I mentioned to you, we were absolutely thrilled with the tour and the way it ran so smoothly. Tim in Ireland and Graeme in Scotland were great drivers and very obliging with our requests for their time. They are very good ambassadors for your business.

We all loved our time in Ireland, the courses, accommodation, food, scenery and especially the people! It seemed our experience just got better and better as we progressed. Ballyliffin was a great starting point and the courses there, especially the Glashedy Links, were top notch. Interestingly we all rated that course in our top 3 at the end of the tour.

Scotland was quite a different feel from Ireland. The Scots are not as warm and inviting as the Irish in our opinion. Royal Troon was not overly welcoming, but places like Kingsbarns and the Castle course were more foreigner friendly. That Kingsbarns is a fantastic track! Turnberry is obviously top notch to stay and play. We soaked up the atmosphere there and the Open history surrounding Tom Watson was easy to feel there. Rufflets was another big hit with the boys. That place is an absolute pleasure and we could have spent more time there easily. On the other hand, Rusacks, its fantastic location aside, was a little frustrating. I don't know if other groups are the same, but our lads relied heavily on internet access to stay in touch with home and work. Russacks came up well short on this and was an exercise in frustration. We think these days free wifi access in rooms should be a given in hotels. Turnberry was the same.

The only other frustration for us was the issue of ride on carts. It really was not possible in Scotland to secure these, even with medical certificates. Courses only had a couple, which were booked well in advance. I know you told us that carts were difficult on some courses but for some individuals this became a significant factor in their enjoyment of the tour. Just the occassional use of a cart would have been very beneficial. It seems Scottish courses are particularly protective of their no-cart philosophy but the Irish courses were much more user-friendly.

Not much to quibble about really Marc. As I said at the start this was a fantastic tour and we would like to thank you very much for an excellent job in organising it. We will be delighted to recommend you to others who we will undoubtedly talk to in New Zealand about our experience.

All the best and cheers,

Peter. Auckland, New Zealand
